Come along for an exciting day out to the Monmouthshire Show situated on the banks of the River Wye in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Show is held on the last Thursday in August each year and remains committed to the support of agriculture and the drawing together of town and country. The Monmouthshire Show has something for everyone. In 2007 the Monmouthshire Show Society Limited not only celebrated its 150th Anniversary but also moved the show to its present home on the Redbrook Road, Monmouth. The brave decision of the committee in June 2004 to purchase the new showground was roundly applauded - see SHOW NEWS – and ensured the long-term future of the Monmouthshire Show and the benefits it brings to Monmouth town and the surrounding area. The spectacular scenery of the Wye Valley and backdrop to the showground is appreciated by all who attend the Monmouthshire Show and other events held on the site. Much work has been undertaken to make the site a magnificent venue and volunteers have given generously of their time. A Showground Development Fund has been set up with the aim of generating income to continue the enhancement of the showground for the future. The Chairman and Committee wish to thank the Judges, Stewards and all the other voluntary helpers who assist in the organising and running of the Show. |
