Horses

The Horse Section of the Monmouthshire Show attracts entries from all corners of the British Isles and, with well over 800 entries, it is one of the best ‘end of season’ shows around.

The Show is fortunate enough to be able to host Horse of the Year Show qualifiers for Ridden Hunters and the classic Ladies Side Saddle. Mountain and Moorland classes incorporate all our native breeds: - The Highland, Dale, Fell, Welsh Ponies Section A and B, Welsh Cobs Sections C and D, New Forest, Connemara, Exmoor, Dartmoor and Shetland. New Classes include the Retraining of Racehorses and a Royal International qualifier for the Miniature Horses.

Show Jumping in the Main Ring attracts leading Show Jumpers from across the country and the Grand Parade gives another opportunity to admire the high stepping Welsh Cob stallions and the horses judged to be champions in their class.
