The Craft Marquee provides an area where a large variety of small creative enterprises may exhibit their goods to prospective customers within the comfort of a substantial marquee.

Every endeavour is made to ensure that items are unique, hand-made crafts created by the stallholder wherever possible and endless opportunities to purchase a beautiful and different gift or treat present themselves.

With the ever increasing awareness of the importance of healthy eating, good quality food and the benefits of local produce the FOOD HALL has something for everyone. Sample everything from local cider to sausages and ice cream in this exciting area of the Monmouthshire Show.

Run under Royal Horticultural Society Rules with carefully chosen judges from outside the local area, the Horticulture Marquee offers much for the exhibitor and visitor alike. Prestigious awards are available to the talented and dedicated gardeners entering these competitions and impressive displays are always in evidence.

A wide variety of Open Classes are available, from the Top Tray Award which involves a display of three types of vegetables, displayed on a tray or board, to classes for individual varieties. The Open Classes also feature the floral art classes including the Monmouthshire Show Top Vase Class for a vase of mixed flowers from a minimum of two different kinds of plants. The National Dahlia Society award Silver and Bronze medals at the judge’s discretion to the most meritorious vases of dahlias at the show. In addition there are competitions for gladioli, chrysanthemums, potted fuchsias and potted foliage plants.

Local Classes are for amateurs whose regular employment is not involved in gardening and who reside within 15 miles of Monmouth. These classes range from cut flowers and pot plants to vegetables and fruit. The Junior Section, for the under 15 years focuses on vegetables whereas the under 10 yrs and the Novelty Classes brings a bit a humour into the proceedings.

The Horticulture Marquee offers a great opportunity for everyone to get involved. It is fun just entering and having a go.

In existence for as long as the Monmouthshire Show the Produce and Handicraft classes display all that is excellent in local talent. Anyone can enter a piece of work into the varied classes detailed in the schedule. Judging takes place from 9.30 a.m. and all exhibits will be on public display from about 12.30p.m.

Classes are included for Local schools, children and competitors with learning difficulties and cover everything from Wines and Flavoured Spirits to Artwork and photography. Come and marvel at the expertise and ingenuity displayed by all the competitors or better still, have a go yourself.

The Shopping Mall provides an opportunity for small commercial enterprises to sell their goods in an area separate from the more individual crafts.
