The Countryside Area & Ring 2008
This year the countryside ring will feature:
- Pig racing!
- Meirion Owen and his Quack Pack
- Black Mountain Falconry from Abergavenny
- Horse Logging
- Fun Games with Young Farmers from Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire
- Presentation of Children’s Trail winners.
The Monmouthshire Farmers’ Marquee will be displaying rare breed pigs in ‘The History of the Pig’.
As last year, Greenmeadow Community Farm will be here with their ‘cuddle corner’ where children can see and touch rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks and more.
Candwr Cider Makers will be demonstrating the art of traditional cider making, the Bumblebee Association will be there, as will Bill Howard, chair – maker.
The Children’s Trail will lead youngsters around the Show, where they can find out the answers to questions and have fun on the way!
The Pig Racing will be well worth watching. 8 rare breed pigs will race, with 2 heats and a final during the course of the day.
