The Monmouthshire Hunt:

Always a pleasure to welcome the Monmouthshire Hunt to the show. Their Parade of Hounds in the main ring and team entry in the Interhunt Relay is always well supported. If you’d like to find out more about them, meet the hounds and hunt staff, they be found in the Country Matters areas of the show.

Woollaston Bassett Hounds:

One of the newest hound packs formed in the country, we are delighted to welcome the delightful Woolaston Bassets. You can meet the hounds at their base in the Countryside area. They will also provide a Parade of Hounds in the Countryside ring during the day.

Roaming Reptiles:

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hold a tarantula or a snake? Well now is your chance! Roaming Reptiles provide a safe and educational creepy crawly encounter and will be joining us in the Country Matters section at this year’s show.

Greenmeadow Community Farm

The cuddle corner of the community farm marquee is a ‘must’ for all children who love to handle the rabbits, guinea pigs and other animals on show. If you’re lucky, you might even have an encounter with a giant tortoise!

The Society for the Welfare of Horses & Ponies

The St Maughns based horse welfare charity is well known for its activities in rescuing mistreated horses and ponies. Some of the rescued ponies are available to meet at the show.

Llamas & alpacas:

Come and meet llamas and alpacas in the Country Matters area. Their owners will be happy to explain what is involved in keeping these gentle animals and how fibres from their coats may be used in knitting and crafts.

Fun Dog Show:

Now an institution of the show, the Family Fun Dog Show takes place at 12.30 in the Countryside Ring. Free to enter and open to all – does your dog have what it takes to win? Watch out, the competition is stiff!

Dog that looks most like its owner

Best 6 legs

Dog the judge would most like to take home

There are two sections for each class:

Handler aged under 16 years

Handler aged 16 years or older (to include all adults)

Approach any of the section show stewards on the day to enter.
